June 8, 2017
Monthly Board Meeting

The regular monthly business meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 pm on Thursday June 8th, 2017.  Trustees in attendance were Chris Hurless, Paul Buelow, Ray Byrd, Dave Sherman, Christine Sylvia, Eileen Richards and Brandy Bradford.  Also in attendance was Barb Simeona, Renton Regional Fire Authority and five homeowners.

~ MONTHLY REMINDERS~

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Renton Regional Fire Authority – A representative from the Renton Regional Fire Authority was present to report.  He spoke regarding fireworks and how hospital transportation works. 

He also reported that this summer is expected to be a violent one with regards to gang activity.

He passed out their monthly safety tips sheet which included tips on fireworks. 

Significant alarms responded to included 4 residential fires that required assistance from Bellevue and Eastside Fire and Rescue, 2 commercial fires that required assistance from Kent Fire, and 1 Hazmat incident.

Molasses Creek/Park Pipeline – Chris reported that construction is slated to begin in July.

Homeowner Appeals – There was a homeowner in attendance to give an update regarding a noise complaint.

One homeowner in attendance to discuss their ongoing CC&R cleanup.

Community Events – The Annual Garage Sale will be June 23-25th.  The big blue truck will be here Sunday after 3 pm to pick-up left over items.

Pride In Ownership – A motion was made, 2nd and approved to fund the gift card account for pride in ownership awards in the amount of $100 which is for 4 $25 gift cards.

One home was nominated and given to Eileen.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting – A motion was made 2nd and approved to accept the May meeting minutes as presented. 

Financial Report – The monthly financial report was accepted as presented. 

Treasurer’s Report – Nothing new to report.

Architectural Control Report – Christine was given one form for review and response.
Common Properties Report – Brandy reported that she met with an arborist and signed a contract to have a review of trees done.  The trees are on common property.  The official report should be received soon.

New Playground equipment will be decided upon when King County is done with the construction.

Covenant Enforcement – All homes in violation were reviewed. 

Unfinished Business – See the outstanding action items below. 

Discussion on security will be next month.

New Business

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm.

The next two meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be Thursday July 13th and Thursday August 10th both at 7 pm.  These meetings are in the portable building at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE. 

All residents are welcome to attend.
